About Parapedimos

Together in Experiment, Trial and Temptation – A.K.A. “Sojourner”

Parapedimos is an attempt to fulfill what scripture calls gifting. A teacher is responsible for making truth accessible. The process of teaching can vary: It can be an example, a lecture, a discussion – the ways are tied to the opportunity. Parapedimos is a result of how teaching preparation is done.

– Research the facts.

what does the scripture say, exactly?

what is the context of the scripture?

what is the structure of the facts?

– Discover the pertinent meanings.

what common life situation is engaged?

what is outside of the human perception box that needs to be overcome?

what are the barriers to perception?

– Abstract the truth proposition to be accessible.

        Conceptual parallel/metaphor?

        Conceptual picture or process?

        Small words and short sentences?

The foundational fact: God Is.

Therefore, the material here is a prompting to explore and discover and be equipped with truth built on that fact.

here is the ‘official’ Strong’s definition of Parapedimos. Note that “Sojourner” is a very uncommon word which has been ‘broken down’ in the above statement:

3927 parepídēmos – a sojourner (foreigner) – literally, someone “passing through” but still with personal relationship with the people in that locale (note the prefix, para, “close beside”). This temporary (but active) relationship is made necessary by circumstances. (These are defined only by the context.)
